Cotton blankets that don't have dandruff?

During warmer months I like having a thin cotton blanket (guess they're usually sold as throws) on the bed. The one I have now sheds non-stop - there's little white fluff pieces everywhere. Is this just what cotton blankets do or do they shed less depending on the quality / weave? Must I get a cotton quilt rather? Any suggestions on cotton blankets / throws etc. that don't shed fluff?
