Could I claim UIF if I am technically still employed?

Why not try, at least ... before you have to resort to living off @Boeliebeef and not much else?

As a bonus, should you eventually get arrested, you will get 3 free meals daily as well as free water and electricity.

You should not report that, because otherwise you will get to see your boss face-to-face in prison every single day during your incarceration - and honestly, who would want that?

Yes, you can claim for a partial payment in lieu of the missing work days.
