Could only access Google sites ?

I had a weird issue last night, i could not go on to any sites except Google ones (Gmail, Drive etc) - nothing else worked, i tried everything.
I turned off the router for an hour or so to get new IP and that seems to have fixed it.
Just wondering what could have caused it?
ADSL on Telkom ISP - not sure if it was just me or if anyone know what caused it?
