I have just read blatant evidence of the absolute two faced lying potential of Telkom!

In the August 2005 edition of SA PCformat magazine is an A3 advertisement from Telkom. The advertisement is for Telkom's ADSL service and how fast it is and what fantastic stuff you can download on this state of the art, first world technology of theirs. So what???? What is so terrible about that?

The ENTIRE advertisement tells prospective customers that they can download MP3's, MOVIES, SHOP TIL YOU DROP, DO GOOGLE SEARCHES, ONLINE GAMING, ETC. Not once do they mention business use or responsible, non bandwidth intense use, yet during the ICASA ADSL debacle, Telkom spefically stated that the downloading of large media files, P2P sharing, etc, etc was ABUSE of ADSL and not what it was intended for (why else would one want ADSL??).

Now they are directly contradicting they ICASA statements (obviously lies to the SA public) by promoting the downloading of these terrible bandwidth clogging media files in order to increase their profits.

Surely ICASA cannot allow these guys to get away with this. Surely they have now proved that they lied, purgered, misrepresented themselves during the ICASA hearings? For the love of God, what next from these jokers?

Yeah man, it just sickens me! I wish the process could be hurried a little. I can't wait to give Telkom the finger.

Another one...

This is starting to get really old really fast...

You can report this ad to who ever you want... But the point is that Telkom are not lying... You can play online games - through there servers, you can download mp3, legally through musica for example, and you can do google searches, so Telkom ain't lying, so yeah, stop moaning about those ads...
