I know this has been posted before, but I cant seem to find the thread after the search. Steam is having specials for Xmas and I want to buy CSS.

Its a classic and I still love to play it some times :D

I am just confused which package should I buy to play locally? Do I need Gary Mod?

Do I get CSS + Gmod

You dont need Garry's Mod (although its a lot of fun to play and I would recommend it). I cant load that site from work for the complete pack so I dont know what it includes. If it includes the original CS (1.6) then it could be fun because CS Pickups (organized games) happen quite regularly.

So I ended up buying CSS Complete Pack but my download speed is only 20kbs and I have a 384Kbs line. Which download region can I change the downloads to be faster?
 
You prolly stuck to those speeds. Steam servers are busy though due to the Christmas Specials.

If you wait a few days, you can download it off Webafrica for nothing if you have airtime with them. It isn't fast though.
 
I changed it to German and it downloaded much faster :)

Its done downloading now. Which servers can I play on locally other than SGS? SGS seems quite.

The only active one is ISGaming. (beware hooligans dominate!)
The WAGE ones are local to the WebAfrica network - just watch your cap in case they miscalculate (:whistle:)
 
IS Servers are nice when you play normal CSS like dust2 and sniperless, but the server is 80% of the time full. Gungame is also IS and a very great server.

Gamezone has bhop, deathrun, climb and zombie servers but its not very busy most of the time.

But the new WAGE servers are dominating mainly i think coz they listen to peoples requests :D
Come join the WAGE surf server its a lot of fun i promise you!
