How is this little wireless thingy giving me ROCK SOLID 60ms latency on Counterstrike Source...

Please someone explain this to me, I always approached anything wireless as being absolute crap at latency... How is this voodoo possible?

But what happens if my neighbor decides to stream his 50 cents youtube vids? Do Cell C have huge capacity or something going on here? I am sorry but im freaking out right now, how am I getting this latency with a STOKKIE ffs!

for me, voda ping is always like this:

200ms
215ms
900ms
1500ms
3000ms
timed out
800ms
500ms

etc... :(

But with Cell C,
40
39
28
38

etc :D

Just played bfbc2 with ping of 72-78ms :) Never thought that 3G would be good for any type of online gaming. Guild Wars is at 300ms though........

That is quick.

I'm getting an average of 90 from CPT to JHB and 400 to London.

Let's hope the network stays like this and doesn't get too conjested.

I can only assume that to be a local CS server

The Diablo2 I play locally also has a <100ms ping , but anything overthewaters has the usual 300-500ms

Look I mean 400ms etc overseas is understandable, BUT getting < 100 local SOLIDLY for 3G is intense! If only they would allow a larger bandwidth for local cap, many a happy gamer will be made!

BobLawnService; Yea dude, im praying the network is wide enough to cope with peeps and their 50 Cents HD streaming, because good God people love doing that crap.

I get amazing pings, uploads and downloads too - but everyone tries to scare me with 'enjoy it while it lasts' and 'network conjestion'

But if my Cell C TRIPLED their ping, DIVIDED download speed by FOUR and uploaf speed by TEN - it'd still be quicker than my Vodacom

Yes - 300ms, 1mbps down and 200kbps up is still faster than my Vodacom :/

Do you guys think its just that Vodacom/Mtn are just over congested because of subscriber base, or is Cell C's protocols just absolutely better?
