Imagine wanting to see a video of your favorite artist or comedian on YouTube. As it happens the content is commercial and above and beyond that, was put there by the artist whom you want to see. Up pops a message saying that the content hasn’t been cleared for your country or territory. Frustration!!!!
I believe that international content providers be it video, audio, books or whatever should consider the frustrations of country specific filtering. I tried to access content Google gave me on a song I heard on 5FM recently that I really like namely “Christian Falk Ft Robyn – Dream On”. I even drove to a CD shop immediately to buy the CD but was disappointed when it wasn’t available. I went online to look for the music video, but when I tried to play it from YouTube it gave me an error stating that the content is not cleared for my country or territory. GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!
When you get a message like that you should realise the following (and it has been happening to YOU for decades in the form of delayed releases on movies) the content you are looking for has not been and possibly won’t be fully marketed to your “country or territory”, they don’t want you to see it, in case they do market it in your “country or territory” and they want to milk you like a farmer would a 15 foot high cow with an udder the size of a small car.
Why play me a song on radio and not allow me to go and see the music video that you put online in the first place. I even bothered to try and buy the CD. Damnit!
I would just like whoever thought up that bright idea to go #$%^ themselves!!! Yes kids, “#$%^” is online slang for “have fun amongst”.
