''Peaceful protests''

Last year Democrat mayors and governors were easy on their support base when they were burning cities and attacking federal buildings. Police literally vacated precincts and in case of the CHAZ, surrendered parts of a city. Another great example is Ted Wheeler who recently admitted that he tried to accommodate them, in other words go easy, but now he wants to play hard ball and the reason is it cannot hurt them (Dems) politically now. Trump is out of office, so now Dem governors and mayors will start viewing the mostly peacefuls as the mostly violents they are. There is now no risk of losing votes when you push back against the black bloc/BLM/Antifa. When Trump said send in the National Guard they all told him to bugger off. Now? They cry about the Trump supporters not being dealt a heavy hand. They cry that Trump isn't criticising his ''mostly peaceful'' supporters and instead seems to be encouraging them. Curious.

If we are going to talk about political bias in dealing with violent protests, let's be honest about it.

What happened in Capitol Hill was a sh*tshow. What happened throughout 2020 was a sh*tshow. Political violence is normalised. Everybody needs to take a good look at themselves. Nothing will be fixed if all they do is point fingers and each side acts like they are the victims. All this will do is ensure the further intensification of political violence.

I actually think they are gonna split now, maybe the democrats as well..... I forsee a "period of mad emperors" within a few decades.

During Rome's decline it not only had bread and circuses it had constant rioting and burning of state buildings.

True, there are fracture lines in both parties, just depends on how deep they are.

There was an appearance of post-election fracture lines between the progressives and moderates within the Democrat party, with moderates saying progressives hurt them in places like Florida and they should cool down, while progressives said the moderates were showing reluctance to change.

I can also see a fringe element of 'Trump Republicans' within the Rep party, but questions on how big they are. One thing voting Rep and Trump, another thing being okay with what happened in Capitol Hill.

I think that shows many of the democracts not really drinking their own coolaid and just being in the game for ambition or money.

On the other hand many republicans seem to not really know what exactly they believe, the illusion of party unity is shattered with many being disillusioned at so many republican officials also only being in the game for ambition and money.

So in short, politicians are whores when your government allows them to be bought out by superpacs / companies etc.

Picture this: Some dusty town in the midwest, it's the time of misogyny, stalk chewing cowpersons (pc ftw) and disenfranchised native americans who had been run off their land and decimated by the colonial european powers - but we'll shorten it to "Cowboys and Injuns".

So in this town, it's mid afternoon, hot. The heat is making the air hazy, bugs chirping from the shadows of whatever godforsaken obstinate plants actually grow there. A tumbleweed rolls across the road, having made up its mind to leave. In the middle of the town are three men. It's a standoff, as things so often are when it's mid afternoon in a dusty town in the American midwest during the golden years of... well, Cowboys and Injuns.

All three of them have weapons in their hands, of the lead spitting variety. This is not a shocker. It's America after all. What is a bit odd is that they each have their guns pointed at only one other person, like some perverted daisy chain for gun fetishists. What is even more odd is that somehow, if one pulls the trigger, all of their guns go off. So they take it calm, they chat, spit out a plan on how to make things work. Cause ain't none of them ready to die yet. They are keeping each other in check.

Now the problem with the US / world today wrt governments is, the banker got involved, had them lower their guns, took them for a meal and maybe some late night entertainment from the ladies of negotiable affections, after that he bought them all new guns with differing stopping power, had them add a couple more guys to their posse and then told them to face off again, only now it's a ****ing free for all.

And all the while everyone is transfixed and invested on the fire fight in the middle of town, no one sees what Mr Banker has been doing in the background.

That's not capitalism, capitalism is a neutral system. Just like any other neutral system it can be abused, no human system exists that cannot be corrupted.

What has happened in murica is the rise of corporatism eclipsing capitalism. Corporatism too is neutral but designed in such a way that corruption is inevitable unless all participants are morally pure.

Corporatism when it takes over politics leads to either Fascism or Communism depending on whether it is global or local.

Focusing on bankers in isolation ignores the fact that without greedy politicians they are powerless. Most of the last hundred years of war has seen banking groups funding both sides. Most central banks have been instituted by politicians bought by bankers. Teddy Rosevelt as example had his way into the whitehouse greased by bankers in exchange for reinstituting the central bank and then later realized he had made a deal with the devil and had committed treason.

You have to be an utter moron if you think you can do something so ill planned and have nothing happen to you.

The antifa chaps are protected to a degree by unscrupulous media and politicians, the trumpers have no such luxury.

Many say this actually looks like entrapment because there was not enough police and the protestors were basically let in so that they could make fools of themselves and be made examples of. Dunno how true that is.

And if you are going to start destroying things sorry I have no sympathy for anyone getting shot.
