I think it is completely acceptable to impeach the ******, if at all still feasible. And those GOP lackeys who supported him, egged the crowd on with their nonsense, should be ousted as soon as possible.

I am sure the Reps have better people in their ranks, and should consider it since Trump and his sicko-phants have cost the GOP the senate, the house and the presidency.

it's a bit of both. it's been brewing in plain sight for some time, as the link discusses. but all that stuff has been treated as happening in isolation and is usually reported as "the crazies (insert name here) did a crazy thing, now here's the weather". the QAnon troll-cult basically created an umbrella under which a bunch of disparate stakeholders who normally get no airtime except as a joke - Sovereign Citizens, white supremacists, Christian determinists, libertarian extremists, etc - got blended with more mainstream crazies who have fallen for the QAnon and child-trafficking conspiracies.

personally, i think the Q demographic (soccer moms, evangelicals, etc) makes people downplay the whole drive and not take it seriously. so i see it as planned, in the sense that some parts of the umbrella movement planned, and it was opportunistic for another part (Trump die-hards, some Q people) who were riled up and found the mob dynamic on the day exhilarating. that's why the crowd had yoga bunnies who were amazed to get maced mingling with neo-Nazi militia. they merge at the fringes, where there's a Q contingent that wants to overthrow the government to "release the children hidden in the basement", and a militia contingent that has been conducting sporadic violence (Cliven Bundy style) for years.

they committed when the Tea Party people started winning office, and the Republican platform just became "whatever it takes to get the votes". now they have to say yes to anything.

Tea Party -> pizzagate -> mole children -> QAnon

There was no attempt to overthrow the election results by the mostly peaceful protesters even though those results are fraudulent and manipulated.

Pence should have but he didn't.

Hopefully people learn from this and don't support companies that discriminate against people based on their political views.

I dislike communism as much as anyone else. But I would never even support a company that tries to ban a communist from flying if he has the money to pay for the flight.
