Courier insurance question

When you courier an item to the place that's going to repair it at what amount do you insure (ie short-term insurance) the item for? Replacement value?

For example you courier a damaged tablet that will cost R5000 to be replaced with a new tablet, do you insure it for R5000 even though the tablet is probably going to cost R2000 in repairs before it will be usable again?

Well if it gets lost how much will it cost you to replace it? Would you rather want to get R2000 and not be able to get a new one, or do you want to get R5000 and get a new one?

I would of course prefer replacement value, I was just wondering whether it being damaged has any relevance to what you would insure it for.

You insure for replacement value...

If they have an accident and your item is lost.. you want to replace it, not repair it.
