Harare - Zimbabwe's High Court on Monday rejected a petition by the opposition Movement for Democratic Change to order the immediate release of results from the March 29 presidential election.

"The matter has been dismissed with costs," Justice Tendai Uchena said in his judgement.

It is no real surprise really considering most of the leaders in Africa (and SADC) are themselves tyrants of some sort or another. I feel sorry for the inhabitants of Zimbabwe and I feel sorry for all of us in Africa as the knock-on effect of this is still to be felt.

That country is doomed and our and every other african government, by implication and ignorance, is guilty of allowing it to happen. The blood of all those innocent Zimbabweans is on their hands, but then they wouldn't notice for all the blood of their own people on theirs.

Why does the west not act aside from harshly worded statements? Because if Africa were to be wiped off the face of the earth, they wouldn't notice aside from the fact that their bank balances would be a little more stocked due to not having to throw billions in aid at this poor excuse for a continent.

I am ashamed to be a South African.
