coverage at Zoo Lake

Anyone connecting at or near Zoo Lake/Parkview?

The coverage maps shows "High Probability Indoors" aka about the best you can possibly get but when I took my modem to my friend's place yesterday I couldn't even get one green light on my grey UTD

I am in Parkwood. I connect to Rosebank and Forest Town. My signal is about -78 to -85. I use the USB modem.

Has Forest Hill's tower number perhaps been allocated to the new Parktown North Tower? Cause that one keeps popping up on my travels and I can't believe that I could be receiving such good signal all the way from Turfontein

While I was at Parkview I was getting signal between -110 and -120 from Rosebank and a couple of others - not even good enough to try and connect. But I can't believe that the coverage maps are so off in that area...

Back to the coverage around Zoo lake, I took a look at the coverage maps (I see IBurst has improved them) and there are areas around Zoo lake where there is no coverage. Are you sure you are not in one of those?

Ummm no theres no tower in Forest Town

I assume you are getting that name from utTraceStar? A number of the towers no longer show up under the correct names there - due to iBurst changing stuff and not telling us cause its "classified" - hence I think that its far more likely that tower no.11 is Parktown North rather than Forest Hill as it used to be (and still shows up on utTraceStar)

Yep, I got the tower location from utTraceStar. If my memory serves me correctly, it was tower number 11.

The new coverage maps seem more accurate. Parktown North you say, when I get my directional antenae that will be a useful guide.
