Coverage question...

check the coverage map on the iburst site
That doesn't help much... I'm in Umhlanga Ridge (Durban) and its green
(on the coverage map) where I'm at and I'm getting one bar and the "light of death".
So which means the signal wasn't tested here and they just assumed it will connect. Thanks to my trusty 6230 I'm on MTN GPRS.

The coverage maps are only an approximation of the situation. A large concrete slab in a shopping mall, for example, can make coverage jump from dark green to white within a distance of 50m. The maps don't have this resolution scale.

Any person considering iBurst must insist on a signal strength test on site before signing up.

Maths

The coverage maps are calculated mathematically btw.
It's all done with Algorithms that analyse the terrain and approximate the signal.
No one at WBS ran around the country side with and iBurst checking signal strengths.

There is currnetly no covergae at parklands, even with high gain antenna

I live in Parklands. No signal without an antenae. I get 5 bar/ 80% signal with an external IBurst antenae. Not great, but waiting for the pending/Tableview tower to go up ....
