Boys, this is a pretty obvious win.

I'm buggering off to the land of the tulips tomorrow so I won't have time to knock an app together.

Here is the idea.

Basic features:
Read covid 19 qr code off the cert, and CV the details on the page against the qr code.

Displays matching or mismatching info.

Advanced features:
White label the app, so Cape Union Fart or Lick and Pay can brand the thing. Sommer stick a Tops (and Bottoms) demo in there cause every dop shop is going to need verification.

Bonus points, hook it up to evds and get user verification, cause the current cert is about as secure as using a checkers bag as a parachute.

And for the love of Darwin, don't store the info. Respect user privacy. We have enough evil people in this country, don't be that guy.

Build, test, verify, profit.

Do this right, and get it to market first and you can sell the branding capabilities. 2 versions, basic verifies the data on the cert, and premium gets branding and verification via evds.

You could bring that to the attention of:

Yea, the QR code is literally just an unencrypted JWT string...... even the signature hash is included, like wtf.

That's how public/private key cryptographic authentication works. You use the signature hash to authenticate the message. You only need the public key of the signer (SA government) to authenticate.

It would have been useless if it was encrypted.

Why not just do this from the Netherlands. You could always use the extra Randelas there.....
