Hi guys

Anyone know what happened to cozareg.com? Been down for two days and I love/need to make use of their service :D

What do you want to use them for? I won't trust places that steal/sell domains for one moment!

I'd rather just register my co.za domain with co.za directly and then manage it via mydomain.com or zoneedit.com and use Google Apps for the mail server.
I don't have a co.za domain myself, because it costs R50/year :) So I got a .za.net domain instead and I'm managing it for free via mydomain.com and the Emails are also for free with Google Apps !

squirrel, cozareg.co.za seems to be up. cozareg.com seems to be down.

Pada, not too sure how you can consider companies who sell co.za domains to be 'stealing'. A bit ridiculous really.
Also, there are a number of reasons why owning a co.za domain is beneficial over owning a free domain such as za.net (which you can't even register anymore).

.co.za is far more valuable than a za.net address IMHO. Much like ".com > .co.za > za.net"

Yes, Tander & chopsky: you're right about that order of domain preference when it comes to domains for businesses!

The za.net domain of mine is purely for personal use.

Secondly, the "stealing" I was referring to was that they'll buy domains (that other people may be interested in) in advance, so that they can make a gigantic profit from it. I think the correct term would be "domain squatting".

isn't that illegal now?

cozareg.com does not charge any additional fee for registrations. I just use them because the form is easier to read and they offer a bit of management.

Oh okay, I get it now. za.net is perfectly fine for personal usage.

With regards to domain squatting, I don't agree with it and I am glad it's illegal now.
