Good day

CPA how long is it active. Do you receive any sort of documentation.

Is this the same valid for 7 days if you not happy then you return item or vehicle.

I'm lost here need some info or guidance.

Its quite complicated

To summarise:

If you buy ANY consumer product, you are entitled to return it for a full refund within 6 months. This is ignored by cellular operators, the motor trade and many unscrupulous traders

For property rentals, you can give the landlord 20 days notice to vacate and they have no lien over you

None of the aspects have been tested in court, a great pity as it an excellent piece of legislation

If you do have a faulty item, the supplier is entitled to examine it to determine if it has been abused or damaged

This is quite good: http://www.meumannwhite.co.za/news-details/25/

Each province adjudicates its own cases. However, if you live in CT and you bought something from Jhb and paid for it with a CT based bank account, then CT has jurisdiction

Note this is only if the item is defective. You can't take it back if you change your mind about a working product.

You can only take working products back (I think within 7 days) if you bought them in response to direct marketing from the seller.

Every province has an Office of the Consumer Protector. You can go to them. I have sorted out two issues through the Office of the Consumer Protector.
