CPE to Router to second router through Ethernet

I live on a property with a main house and a cottage. The two are roughly 30 meters from one another. The main house is getting a CPE box installed and connecting to a 20 mbps fiber internet plan.

My question is would we be able to run an ethernet cable out of the main house's router to the cottage and connect a router to use the same connection? Would there be a speed/latency issue in using this method?

Should work fine. Just turn off DNS on the cottage router and configure a static route to send traffic to the main house's router.

No, there shouldn't be any latency or speed problems. At home we're running a 40m stretch of Ethernet cable to connect the two rooms that are the furthest away, passing through two gigabit switches along the way, and the latency increase is 1/100th of a millisecond (in other words, it's not even worth mentioning).

Would you like wireless access in the cottage? If not, instead of a wireless router or access point, just install a gigabit network switch in the cottage.

CAT5e will do you just fine and will give you Gigabit.

Where to buy it depends where you are.
