My stock intel fan for my Q8200 has lost a few blades during a freak "accident".I was wondering what would be a good replace fan in the R300-R500 range.Must not be very large since my case is a matx.

Is it one of those with the 4 pins that you have to push down and twist to clip into place on the motherboard?

If so, you have my sympathies - I almost put my finger through the fan as well this week (while sorting out my kids' PC's).

Do you want a similar replacement or something else? Be aware that some of them (Coolermaster, Zalman, etc) require your to but a base plate underneath your board in order to fit 4 bolts through from the cooler unit.

I did the same thing on my Q8200 and now I use a DeepCool 200ST for about R60. Red fan better airflow and silent also got a 2 degree drop in temp as compared to the Intel stock cooler. See deepcool.com

Raphael what was your idle temps for your Q8200.Because mine are a bit high that's why I was thinking of a aftermarket cooler.

Best value for money aftermarket cooler under R500 has to be the Coolermaster Hyper 212+ .... (it is pretty big though)
