Getting irritated at the amount of noise my standard Intel cooler is generating so looking for a new one, any recommendations? Only one requirement it must be QUIET!!!

Mine keeps my chip at 55-60 deg's, rpm goes from 700 - 1000. U won't hear it unless you have a crazy overclock.

Best budget Aircooler - Evo 212,you do get better and more silent but that one is quite the sweet price point

ScottulusMaximus, you didnt mention your socket. 775,1155,1156,2011?

Sorry, is latest gen 22nm LGA1155 i5... But planning on upgrading to the biggest baddest i7 you can get when the next gen comes out and prices of this gen drop a bit so the cooler should be able to handle that easily if possible.

This Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo, is only compatible with LGA 1366 / 1156 / 1155 / 775, so it wont work with future sockets.

Therefore it wont be necessary to buy this cooler if you are upgrading, rather wait for a new socket then buy a cooler for the i7

Gonna get the i7 in this socket, just waiting for the prices to drop:) sorry for the confusion... Sort of future proofed my build with an upgrade plan in place when I started

Have you tried to manually control the fan to the silent profile using Asus AI Suit II?
