So I got my new rig this past Monday and I am having issues with it. I got it assembled, coz I haven't built a rig from scratch myself. I can add one or two components here and there.

Spec:
CPU: i7 2600 (non-k)
Mobo: Asus P8H67-M
Case: Coolermaster Scout
CPU Cooler: DeepCool Tiger Shark
Deepcool Tiger Shark, Nickle plated copper base + nickel plated aluminum fins with 4 heatpipes , hydro bearing 120mm PWM fan , 500-1500rpm , 66.3CFM , 17.8~27.6dB - for intel LGA775/1156/1366 , AMD AM3/AM2+/AM2
PSU: Corsair TX 650
RAM: Mushkin Silverline DDR3 2X4GB
DVD-Writer: LG
HDD: Samsung 1TB

Everytime I boot my rig, it has this error "CPU Fan Error. Press F1 for SETUP"
So when I do press F1 to get to the BIOS, the Fan Speed has a red bar and it is below 600rpm. I suspect it is because the cooler has min of 500 rpm. CHeck that bolded min rpm for the Deepcool Tiger Shark cooler. After a few second the rpm increase above 600 and the bar becomes green, indicating it is all good?

Anyway, so I exit the BIOS and everything works fine. I installed Speedfan and the CPU temperature is always above 90°C. I suspect it has to do with that cooler not working properly. See attached pic of SpeedFan readings here.

All the three fans (back, front, and top) that come with the Scout are working fine. What could be the problem? I'm concerned about the temps. I suspect the cooler wasn't installed properly.

Sppedfan isnt the most accurate program, download HWmonitor and check again. If problem persists there should be an option in the bios to manually set the min rpm for your fan. If problem still there reapply the heatsink. Make sure yuo use a tiny amount of thermal paste, and then screw in the heatsink little by little until its good and tight.

Are you using the latest bios for you motherboard? Try updating it and see if it helps, otherwise you can try going to the Hardware Monitor page in the BIOS and set the CPU fan speed reading to ignored. (not the safest option)

I did use the HWmonitor and this is what it shows. Any good?

Is that idle temps? If so, its kinda useless. You need to run something like Prime95 to get full load temps. That tells you whether everything is really 100%

Ok I'll do that. Thanks.
did you plug the CPU fan in on the motherboard?
Yes. I'll just have to make sure again, but that was my first suspicion that the fan could have been connected to a wrong slot, though there is one cpu fan connecter on this motherboard.

Otherwise it is a monster machine. I can load anything in seconds. I will enjoy working on that pc than I do with my current i5 650.

+1 for making sure that the CPU fan connector is on the correct motherboard connection - the large red arrow is the correct one. The smaller arrows are for other fan connections like chassis, etc.

Also have a look in the user manual to see if there is a setting in the BIOS to change the minimum CPU fan speed alert...

Update: I disabled the cpu Q-Fan Control in the BIOS to run the fan at 100% and that error doesn't show anymore.
I also ran Prime95 for about 4 hours and the temps were around 51°C and ran it again the whole night.

Everything seem to be ok, and the DeepCool Tiger Shark cooler is not as loud at full speed.

Now I just need an SSD, 6850, sound card, and speakers.

Hi - I have two 1366 Socket CPU's
1 x 920 - Slightly Used
1 x 950 - Brand New

Any takers
