What is the difference between the two graphs on Windows Task Manager in the CPU Usage graph? It shows the green line as CPU usage and the Red as Kernel Time.
I've done some searching on Google and there are lots of articles on how to tune apps to use less or more Kernel time but none explaining what it is.
I run a VM (VM Player) and in the VM (Win 2003 server) the green line often runs at 100% but the red is usually at about 5 or 6%. This is just for personal interest/knowledge. I'm not experiencing any issues or problems that need resolving.
