CPU on a GPU = Cheaper PC's (AMD and ATI)

It's pretty cool, not for a gamer, and definitely not for the future, but it's cool, unless you are telling me that GPU/CPU can run VISTA, then I'd smile ;)
 
Well, I would think it would need a faster bus than PCI-E for starters...unless im understanding this wrong. But yes i could see a market for this on OEM and budget PCs, we all know current on board solutions are NOT up to the task.
 
wouldn't the cpu herts interfear with the gpu when it's calculating the graphics?
 
no it would work the same as a dual core CPU. Except the CPU would be able to interface directly with the GPU...

I don't see it being gaming orientated, due to technical and cooling limitations, but we will see VERY cheap intergrated systems.
 
Could be interesting. What would Intel and Nvidia do?

Funny how these mergers work out and for what reasons.
