CPU Speed more than max on W8.1?

Hi all,

I've noticed this morning that my laptop's processor is running faster than its rated maximum speed. The max is 2.30GHz but in Task Manager it says 2.46GHz? I've included a screenshot of it. Anyone know what's going on here?

Guessing it's a i5-4200U model specifically? As it says @1.6 GHz next to the model name, which matches the i5-4200U base frequency.

It's probably the TurboBoost that's pushing it this high. The max TurboBoost frequency of the U model is 2.6GHz.

Yes! It's the same CPU. It never runs at 1.6 Ghz though. Always seems to go 2.3GHz or above.
