CPU temps and cooling

I'm thinking the heatsink is not seated properly. Very small outside chance of the sensor being bust.

So I did an idle test in the BIOS and it read 68C. All my Temp programs say ~42C when idle. It is pretty damn hot in joburg right now how much does that effect the CPU temp?

You got major issues if your bios is reporting 68 degrees, archer reckons it should be lower but it's higher. Follow the posts that recommend checking the fan cooler is on right.

Even on a hot day your cpu should not 68 degrees in the bios. Granted i don't know how hot the room is that you are in but 68 bios temps is very bad.

I have my suspicions that its not seated right but how this only has happened after a whole year I'm not sure. I got me some Arctic Silver 5 paste to make completely sure.

Before you apply new thermal paste, make sure to completely remove the old thermal paste.
Ensure that you apply a VERY THIN and EVEN layer of thermal paste for the best results.

So I reseated my Heat sink fan with Arctic silver 5 compound after cleaning it with isopropyl and now my idle temp are in the twenties. What a difference that makes. I think I broke the bond when fiddling with the fan when cleaning it. So thanks for all help every1.

EDIT
I tried my best to max the cpu out and got no higher than 56C almost half of where it was.
