Anyone heard of Nano Diamond/Silver thermal paste?

I decided that 83 degress per core under full was too high for my Q6700 so I removed the cooler and cleaned it out and added Nano Diamond thermal paste and presto, temps down to 66/70 per core.

Interesting. Frans for teh tip. But, now you have to re-do the job using normal paste to see if it's actually the paste doing the trick, or your 1337 paste smearing skills.

Yeah apparently diamond is more conductive than most metal...so I could believe it...

Though if its not too much trouble, try normal thermal paste, then nano silver then nano diamond and give us the result.

What brand nano diamond u using? Jetart?:p

Yeah, Jetart.

I will give that a go. Temps also drop at night due to ambient temps being lower. The side of my case is also open.

/google boinc . . .

ya the intel cooler us crap, im also using it, and oc'ing my cpu yet the temp never goes over 55 on stress test.

Where'd u get it from and how much? Ben wanting to test it out, I'm using the jetart nano silver.

I got a HyperTX 2 from cafejava for under R200...think u might want to go for aftermarket coolers ;)

Definitely get an aftermarket cooler, it sounds like the Intel jobbie is really inadequate for your needs. I overclock my cpu and it never goes above 42....60's is a bit high for comfort.

I got it from Bayside Computers in Tableview.

Jetart Nano Silver - R45
Jetart Nano Diamond - R49

Pretty decent considering AS5 costs over R100.

I'm going to look at after market coolers today.

Damn in CT, do they have a website?

Anyone know where i can buy this in JHB?

I am using Dow Corning, and am not impressed. Should I try jetart Diamond?

How often should one clean and replace the paste?

I also wanted to thank you for this tip. My PC, used only for work, was idling at 65 on a warm day - with Visual Studio, 2 VM's, outlook, and one or two other apps running.

Now after cleaning the CPU, removing the old paste and applying Nano Diamond (also from Bayside Computers), idling at 46 to 47.
Absolutely wonderful, plus fans obviously quieter.

Glad it helped and apologies for not answering your original question.

You shouldn't need to do it again until swapping CPU's as far as I understand. I redo every year or so as I'm always pulling things apart.
