CAPE TOWN - A 26-year-old student implicated in an arson attack at Cape Town University of Technology (CPUT)’s Bellville campus has appeared in court.

Byron Dick was arrested on Wednesday after two buildings at the institution were set alight.

At least three security guards, who were allegedly locked inside one of the burning buildings, were injured.

CAPE TOWN - A Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) student implicated in an arson attack at the Bellville campus has been granted bail.

Byron Dick appeared in court this morning following his arrest last week after two university buildings were set alight.

At least three security guards who were allegedly deliberately locked inside one of the burning buildings at the time of the incident were injured.

These protesters burn the institutions down, demolish and vandalise where possible. Now they wanted to be granted with amnesty. I’m sorry, but these protesters need to learn a lesson through their actions the hard way. Tomorrow they do the same to their workplace, then to have amnesty…

The law means nothing, don’t know why people are supporting this cause.

Not to mention the ongoing looting... criminals.
