Today is the day it's released in good 'ol SA. I'll be going to be pick up my copy today (hopefully).

For all of those who don't know what Crackdown is: imagine a futuristic GTA, with a bigger more open ended world with light-RPG elements! It's made by the same guy who created Grand Theft Auto (and Lemmings), but left Rockstar to form his own company.

It's been getting pretty good scores (oh and it includes the Halo 3 Beta)

Don't forget it is a vertical world as well unlike GTA. You can climb and break through roads as well...

Looks awesome... I don't think we get the free Halo 3 Beta invite though... Only applicable to the US and EU I think.
 
That's not a problem, we fall under the "EU" when it comes to this sort of thing ;)

I'm keen to try it out, but I've ot too many other things to play at the moment, and my budget won't allow it either :(
 
Yeah, I really want to play this, but I'm just too busy to take on another game atm.

But I'm really tempted to head over to BT Games anyway.
 
The gameplay videos from GameTrailers look awesome. If I manage to pick it up this weekend, I will give ya some feedback on Monday :)
 
Well, I bought it yesterday. Played 1 1/2 of the islands yesterday, but can't play today.

Overall, very fun, but maybe lacking in depth.
 
Two words....FRIKKEN AWESOME ! I picked it up on Saturday and played it most of Sunday. Grand Theft Auto fans... your dreams have come true x10. I think it's the only game I get a sense of vertigo while playing - amazing.

I can't stop playing...and must...collect....green...orbs.
 
I'm 2 thirds of the way through now. I must admit, it bever gets boring leaping from the rooftops. Spaceman, I know what you mean about that feeling of vertigo - it's awesome.
 
Nobody in PE seems to have it. :o

BT Games here in Durbz was all sold out and nobody else seemed to know when it was arriving. Seems IC saved the day and was the only shop with it.

Thanks for the suggestion but that was one of the first places we tried. :o
 
I see. Perhaps by this weekend they will have copies in stock ? And just to put everyone's mind at rest, South Africa's copies of Crackdown include the Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta !!!!!!!!!!! It has a little sticker on the box that says so :)
 
I wish-listed it at take2 and kalahari. Take2 just emailed me to say they have stock so hopefully it will only be a couple of days. :)
 
Talking about vertigo... I climbed the agency tower last night. Talk about sweaty palms, it was nerve wracking.
 
Got a call from the courier company last night - crackdown should be delivered this morning. Not bad take2. :)
 
With this game offering much more than GTA ever did I think Rockstar will have their hands full in making GTA4 a better game.

I am a tad concerned about the game when one has done the single player and COOP side of it. Hopefully they will release some sort of "capture-the-building" game mode or something to keep this game alive. :)
