Okay I know this may be controversial subject, and I'm probably stirring but what defcon5 is getting away never ceases to amaze me.

Why has nobody prosecuted defcon 5 (http://www.defcon5.co.za/) yet? They have at least 2 stores in Pretoria and all of their games are cracked versions with a special patch directory. I know it's hard to prosecute some of these people, but these guys are selling illegal stuff out of a brick and mortar store and they've been around for quite some time now as I understand it.

I'm not much of a gamer myself but I discovered this as a result of having had two roommates who were both poor students and avid gamers.

You could try sending an e-mail to SAFACT about it - their pretty poor and rarely-updated website is at www.safact.co.za

You technically AREA allowed to make a back-up copy of your games, but you're most certainly not allowed to sell that back-up, and if you sell the original the back-up goes with it - you MUST have the original, since the EULA lies with the original and not any back-ups or copies.

Leave them alone if u can afford the real deal then do it if u cant let us play

Fantasy is what people want, reality is what they need.

I can understand why they keep the prices relative in Dollar terms (lagal software that is). They want to prevent us simply shipping it back to the US or Europe at a lower price, but at least make a downpayment system available for us poor people in the 3rd world.
