Cracked screen

I dropped my Desire S and cracked the screen this morning I'm on contract with VC but don't think the warranty will cover this. Anybody have an idea what cost I'm looking at to have it fixed?

You can take it to Vodacare and ask them to quote first. If you reject the quote cause it is too expensive...there will be a quote rejection fee though. Think it is R100.00 or something.

that is ridiculous charging someone to say how much a screen costs...I can understand of the phone isn't working and they have to look inside...

I dropped my Lumia 800 and they quoted me something like R 1,300. But then they want to replace USB door and SIM Tray too so I am querying this now

I also dropped my Desire S the other day. I have ordered a replacement digitizer off ebay. I will see what kind of quality it is and it cost me about R125 including delivery. Will take 6 weeks probably to arrive though.

I would have thought these screens would be slightly tougher! I have dropped my old dream and many other cellphones countless times onto hard surfaces. Drop my desire s from my pocket and screens cracked. There seem to be quite a few people who have cracked their desire s screen so I'm wondering if it is a weakpoint in this particular design?

Vodacare wanted R1900 and two days to fix it. Found a repair shop in Pretoria cbd who did it for R600 in my lunch break.

There's a place at the bottom of Long street, over the road from Nandos... did my Desire a while ago... well priced too.

No it didn't. The screen worked but the soft buttons at the bottom did not... Got a full refund though and scored the tools to open phone
