So I ordered a package from cybersmart with their circuit rental and done a contract for the free router. Everything goes fine. the things arrive in May and I done everything that the instructions told me to. The modem's adsl led keeps on blinking no matter what I do. I called telkom to make sure that the adsl line is online and they came back 2 weeks later saying it's all fine.

I call cybersmart helpline and that guy had no clue what he was doing. Told me to do what I have already tried and the 20 minutes phone call lead to no where. I sent them tons of email with the problems I've been having and so far..no reply.

So I cancelled it last month.
They debited my account this month.
I cancelled the debit order and demanded a refund.
They then after a month of complaint and after I cancelled told me that the password that they provided was wrong!

I've never even used a bit of their internet services and they kept on charging me. I've several times for refund or help with the problems I've been having and they have so far ignored me.

Not to sure with any of the other guys who are with cybersmart but IMO keep away from them and try telkom instead. At least they do something and have branches all over to complain to.

How about this...phoned Telkom 6 weeks ago at a client, ADSL is not activated on the clients line...they promised me it is. 6 weeks on, I get to the client, ask them if Telkom got back to them....No, telkom is telling them they are on strike, and the line is NOT active or even on. They can't do anything about it. They won't. My advice: steer clear of Telkom, 'cos if you think Cybersmart is bad, telkom will outperform them in this arena time and time again.

How about this ........ do not use the internet, it is full of problems and will out-do anything Telkom and CS or any ISP in-fact in terms of service. The internet is EVILLLLLL!!!!

I had a Telkom techie come fix my line & he was busy sorting out my problem till 18h00 on Sat evening.

Ask telkom to reset your DSLAM, and check your exchange - get it checked by 3 diff telkom ppl - just trust me on this one. THEN email [email protected] he is high up and always helps me FAST! Best of luck.

Hi

I am not sure how this could have happened. The reason we supply a free router is so that we can test it and preconfigure it. The router cannot be dispatched unless it has connected on the test line in the office, we then know that when the router reaches you, if it does not connect the adsl installation is not completed as indicated to us. For the password to be wrong means
1. It was changed on the website by yourself and not in the router
2. The router was reset when it was arrived
3. Somehow the dispatch process was bypassed. If 3 is the case, please email me [email protected] with your telephone number or username so that I can investigate.

There is an escalation procedure on every single ticket, which at some stage gets to me. If you have sent a ton of email, this escalation procedure was either not initiated or not followed, either way it is a problem that I would like to resolve. I would appreciate if you email me and we can sort out your billing problem at the same time.

Regards

LAurie
