I have noticed that lots of people have problems with Installing and other problems related to the install and post install where their P.C's dont like the Modem and then starts crashing or starts being less than co-operative....
1. One Tip to follow is to Disable Hyperthreading the modem or drivers are not compatible with it and will throw you out
2. If Ares does not connect there is a fix availible for it somewhere on the net, just look for it, someone mailed it to me I should have it on my PC still and I will email it to people on request email me if you need it.
3. If the modem keeps saying "server not responding etc etc etc." move the modem to the left or right until you find either a singal change or frequency change in the indicator in the application dialer. IF that doesnt work reboot and try again. IF that doesnt work switch the modem on and off and then try dialing up again, if all else fails a hard reset of the modem can be done but is a little technical, phone the tech support for help or email me.
4. Get a firewall like Zone Alarm and a decent Anti-Virus, when the modem works you are going to be online alot and the things you Download are going to need checking and also you are going to need to protect your system from outside inspection and harm.
Those are the things I have come accross as a USER and agent which I have had to solve personally at my own PC which have come up in that order, if any other users can shed a light to others who might need direct questions solved on how to get their modems working because of odd problems, please help out...
