Hi Ya guys
Need some help, im on an unlimited package from Simplenet ISP
But from the start of this month till date, my internets been crawling...
downloads dont even reach 2kb/s some days, i was averaging 30 kb/s usually..

the guys at simplenet say its a telkom problem as they get signal from Telkom SAIX's, are the rest of u telkom users having the same problem??

Haven't heard of Simplenet but I'm switching between a TelkomSA and WA Prepaid account (both SAIX) and both work fine, I get the usual 40KB/s on my 384k line.

In general, people would advise you to either use Web Africa or OpenWeb as your ISP, all other ISPs pale in comparison to them.

EDIT. Hate to say this, but TelkomSA is also another decent option for an ISP since you get 10x your international cap as local bandwidth after you get capped.

Huh? No other ISP worth using.. gees. WebAfrica's pricing pales in comparison to some of other ISPs pricing, and theres only so much use for the support.

You don't really need to take the ISP that seriously, it's about price. Chances are you wouldn't even have much contact with your ISP besides the very basics, so I don't know how much worse other ISP's can be.

Well maybe that was a bit harsh on the other ISPs but from my experience, having emails responded to almost instantly at any time of the day (for the most part), and having nice clean DSL console to purchase all your accounts from without any hassles puts WA in pole position.

IMO
