I guess they exist all over the world, but in this case it was a UK seller. I was interested in a PC game, but the postage cost to SA was too high and certainly not worth it for a £1.50 game.

Anyway, after some back and forth negotiation, I find the following message in my mailbox:

Stop stealing money from me, if you carry on like this,, i will call a --------- POLICE --------- !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Exactly as shown above.

I'm honestly not sure if maybe the seller is joking or something? Or maybe it's a kid using his folks Ebay account? Anyway, this seller hasn't sold anything for over a year and although the account shows 100% positive feedback there are 8 consective negative feedback posts left by different users. Prior to that the feedback was okay.

Anyway, I was nothing but polite to the seller, and the seller inconceivably accused me of theft. If it's not a joke, he's pretty much forced me to report him to Ebay. He also seems to have two Ebay accounts open at the moment selling exactly the same items, don't know how that's allowed to happen either.

Anyone else had experience with dodgy Ebay sellers with bad attitudes?

I do regularly buy on eBay auctions for delivery to a UK address, as I make a few trips to that country each year.

My experience is that if I should manage to get a bargain, the item is simply never dispatched to me. Excuses usually involve claims that I never made payment, but this is quickly disproved as I use a UK PayPal account. There is then just silence from the vendor.

PayPal are as good as their word when it comes to investigating my complaints and have always refunded my money in full. This does however take a few months and the 'bargain' is of course, lost.

At the risk of offending many, I have found that fraud and Pommies go together like a hand and glove, and this is not limited to eBay.

Lol ebay sellers K@K me out each time I use the ebay dispute service( only buy if it's a money back guarantee if you don't get it you don't pay), why didn't I contact them first blah, blah, I simply tell them I do every thing via the book and finished en klaar.

I now force the sellers to send items only that can be tracked even if it means paying more for shipping, which often I don't mind doing, peace of mind and all that.

My experience with UK sellers is that they very often try to pass used (even well used) items off as new. It's not a huge problem for me, as I mostly order games from there. As long as it works, it's fine.

In all fairness, you are supposed to contact a seller first before filing an "Item Not Received" case. I usually wait 40 days for the item to arrive, notify the seller if it hasn't and only if the seller fails to refund of their own accord would I file an INR. If the item arrives after that, I simply pay them their money back.

I didn't receive the item after 2 months plus an additional week after it should have arrived, this is the service ebay offers this is the service I make use of.There is too much that can go wrong or whatever trying to deal with the issue privately. However the ebay system works great, 3 days and sorted, all they asked was delete the dispute or close it and supply a positive rating, which I am happy to do.

I don't really care if people are offended by it or not, however having worked in several different posts with in the airport ranging customer service to stake holder services, unless you follow proper protocol you will get your ass handed to you, people, lie, cheat, steal their mothers undergarment if it would benefit them, I prefer I rather not be the ass ever.

I agree. You contract in a certain way and both parties are liable to keep their end of the bargain. If the seller doesn't want a bad review, he must deliver proper service. There is a reason for the system being set up like it is and I agree to use it as such.

Apparently not, because the procedure is to contact the seller first.

I've often seen what look like identical items being sold under multiple accounts. I doubt it is that hard to do. Ebay would probably shut them down if reported.

As stated the proper protocol is to contact the seller first. If they're unhelpful or ignore you then you escalate it to Ebay or Paypal.

Between you and me, that is recommended thing to do, not cast or set in stone, I prefer not to deal with the oke in Asian barely able to speak English and uses google translate to formulate replies.

Use the system, get things done quickly, no 2 week long back and forth, I don't have the time to beatch and argue with the seller, you don't like it, tough, there is the door.

There is two ways to deal with things on ebay the polite and hope every thing works out okay way, or think with your head and consider money is money and business is business, shyte happens it's not your fault but I need things on record in case you decide to screw me way.You have way way too much trust in humanity.

Last item issue was $2500.00 you really want to consider your approach is the best way to work with 25K odd on the line ?

Something you should probably be aware of with what you're doing:

Filing too many INR's can get you suspended or banned from Ebay, because you get considered as a liability. This is why it's better to contact the seller first. If the seller refunds by his/herself, you're both better off than if an INR is filed.
