Crazy expensive Samsung Galaxy S6

Can somebody explain why vodacom is over R100 more expensive than telkom for pretty much the same contract?
 
Telkom offers a good deal. Anyone on Telkom...how is the network!
 
The rand fell badly over the last year. That would be the biggest factor to consider.
What bugs me however is the cell networks offering the top phones only on their medium to higher packages.
With the exception of Telkom. Its almost like they just assume that everyone that wants a top end phone also wants to phone around all day.

Who still phones around a lot in these days and uses 3G/LTE data?
The Smartchat 50 offer from Telkom is perfect for me. R479 however is still a bit too high tho... :(

For 2 months then ...no free whatsapp......telkom deal still looking good

They have brand strength. Often networks have a listed price and then run promos at strategic times. The week after Easter Weekend may not be the most strategic.
 
When I took out a contract at the end of 2013 with TM for the S4 it was R369 for the Smartplan 100 which included 5gbs of data.
These new contract prices are a joke.

I got that package on the S5 for one of my family and it's worked out really well. Many teenagers seldom make a phone call and there's whatsapp, and on Cell C the occasional (fetch me at tennis) phone call doesn't break the bank

Cell C did rip me off with an unexpected connection fee, so watch that. They don't quality-control their adverts
