crc errors

Mecer conexant modem - I get lot of crc errors. VPI:8 VCI:35. Any ideas please?
 
Not that I disagree but please qualify the statement. Why would a Mecer modem give me CRC's and not a Billion?

Is there any proof or way to verify this?
 
My primary connection is a Linksys router, but that got taken out last week by lightning, so waiting on a new one.

I have a Mecer USB winmodem at the moment, which works fine - getting a good 55kB on my 384 line, some errors from time to time, but I cannot point at the modem (although it could be?), might just be the cr@ppy lightning belt I live in :)
 
Exactly what happend to me! Lightning zapped Linksys so I got the Mecer 4 port as a cheap replacement. Not nearly as user friendly as the Linksys but it does the job. Obviously these CRC errors will influence my speed?
