Hi guys. The clutch in my 2014 Hyundai i10 1.2l makes a creaking sound whenever I engage it. What could be the issue? I applied some Q20 lubricating spray on the visible clutch cable in the cabin and it makes a bit of a difference for a while, but the sound comes back.

You would need to get the clutch cable right out and holding one end upright feed some oil onto the cable just where iiiit foes into the outer section. So a good amount of oild would need to trickle down into the cable outer part. We used to do this with VW cables when I was younger. I would have thought the i10 has a hydraulic clutch??

Could just be the spring on the pedal itself because a 2014 car should have a hydraulic clutch.

What is the mileage on the car? My first thought as I had the issue on my ex VW Type 3, was the thrust bearing which made a noise every time I pushed on the clutch pedal to engage the clutch.

It's 59 000km. I've had the car for 11 months and bought it at 53 450 km. It's due for a service anyway, so i'll have them check it out. Hope It holds out until then.

The sound is definitely coming from inside the cabin, but whether or not it's due to the issue as shown on the diagrams in the link you shared, I don't know. I'm a bit too green when it comes to cars. I had hoped that, I'd be told that the issue I have is nothing to worry about. But like I said, it's due for a service, so I'll have them check out the pedal as well.

It's worth mentioning it when you take it in. Please excuse my confusing description, I was baked as hell.
