I wish to create a hotspot in an internet cafe where I can offer clients the same price for wireless as for normal connection. Can anyone give me some advice, including low cost hard and software recommendations.

I would go for a mikrotik device with built in hotspot software. You can limit wireless connections by time, bandwidth etc. Phone scoop for pricing.

OK. Contacted Scoop. They said I could use User Manager on Mikrotik or buy Radius Manager Billing which sounds a better choice. Does anyone know how complicated this is, could someone new to Radius Management do it? If not, can anyone recommend someone I can hire to set it up and very important, teach me.

Chillispot seems to have stopped development in favour of their Hotspotsystem, a rather expensive method.

How about Antamedia Hotspot? Seems simple enough.

I need some assistance with this. I want to create a wide area hotspot where people can buy a voucher over the counter and enter the pin online (and maybe later on signup and pay online). I'm located in the middle of Long Street Cape Town. Is there someone I can contact to do this for me at a reasonable cost?

has anyone ever used the hotspot ability of DD-WRT firmware on the linksys AP's, just curios if it works here in SA and if it is any good?
