Creating a Hybrid App

Hi,

I want to create an app. The app is a mini os with only below functions.

• Call Log
• Phone Book
• SMS
• Gallery
• Pictures (use camera)
• Video (use camera)
• Audio
• Documents
• Calendar
• Internet Browser

What are my options?

1. Hybrid app maker WYSIWYG
2. Edit an existing android os
3. Do it myself but I only know 27% of Python & 8% of C

NB: The app is will have several abilities but first I just need to create it

What do you mean by mini-OS? You don't want the person to be able to perform any other action on the phone, except your app?

Usually in that case there are other ways of locking down the device.

To create an app like this , even with multiple libraries and a hybrid platform in the way you are suggesting would cost several million rand. If you did it yourself , it would cost several million rand worth of your time.

Forget that idea.

The above post sounds like a good approach. Investigate some apps that you know will do what you want. Then examine how you can get these apps to work together and lock down the device with no other usage options.

I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish though.

Do this because by the end of it you'll +55 your coding stats and have acquired enough skill to level up a few times.

Realistically you'd have better luck customising a linux distro. Coding just one of those (and supporting it) is a lifetime job.

If you want it for just yourself and some small things, you can do some of this in MIT App Inventor (Android only)
