I'm a huge fan of Vagrant Boxes. Love its ease of use and how quick it is to load up a VM with everything you need to - and even better when you screw it up the server you can reload a new one within seconds, faster than deploying a DigitalOcean droplet. However, with many Boxes, there's often a lot of stuff that comes pre installed that you don't need or your project got so many extras that you do need.
(I used Scotchbox in the past https://box.scotch.io/ but I'm keen to have my own VM with Nginx and Mariadb as opposed to Apache2 & mysql)
So I've been trying to build my own box with Ubuntu Server 16.04.2 LTS. The server side things are very straight forward & simple. But converting it to a Vagrant Box is where I'm having issues.
I've been following guides online but most of them are either outdated or missing a few important things.
I'm running MacOS as my host machine.
Any advice, links to articles I might have missed &/or recommendations would be highly appreciated.
Have a great day all!
