Creative Zen Microphoto 8GB MP3 player

Ok, im no iPod fanboy and need actual quality when listening to my music.. anyways this player seems pretty damn good and seemingly removes the annoyance of converting (rather, down-converting) all music before copying and also using some proprietary nonsense format. It also has a radio (which I need) and a fancy OLED screen for photos. A better buy than an iPod IMHO.

Now, what I want to know is if someone can tell me if it actual converts the music or just copies the intact mp3s on to the player.

Next, I know someone who is in the US for a week or two and I need a source to buy one of this White/Grey/Titanium.. any suggestions? Note that the official price is $250 (about R1750 incl. shipping) whereas Incredible Corruption retails it at R2300 (thus, reasonable price about R2150) Yes, I know, they are out of stock everywhere...

I have a creative nomad zen 20GB mp3 player, about two years old but it works great. I think it works the same as mine were you get software that rips your CDs to mp3s and then copy the intact mp3 to the player. Not 100% sure. If you have lots of mp3 already you can just copy them to the player.

I would go with an Ipod you can get a 30Photo for that price.
