Can someone please advise me on how to get registered with a credit bureau? My mom is trying to get a vodacom contract and it couldn't be approved because the problem is that the name couldn't be found for a credit check. Also she has never taken any form of contract before.

The above is to register to see your credit bureau profile.

You cannot register to be listed on a credit bureau. The credit providers sends ones info to the credit bureaus when ones takes out loans and contracts and such (some of my insurance shows for example) and as one pays them they update that.

If your mom never had credit before she will not have a credit bureau profile. The only way out is to build one slowly. I used a Telkom line to build mine, but Telkom lines are not really a thing anymore.
 
You are automatically registered when you have credit. Maybe she should try getting a credit card or some store account to build credit history

yeah i noticed theres no register option. you had taken the Telkom line, so in this case can i take out a vodacom contract and build up from that?

That was a Telkom landlines back in 2005. The various providers use various credit bureaus, Telkom for example uses XDS to check when you go for a Telkom contract.

Since she has a credit card I'd say, get free ones that show scoring from XDS and Experian as a start and see what they say.
