I was browsing the credit cards on offer currently in SA, looking at their monthly and yearly costs and what benefits or rewards they come with etc. I then got bored cause non of them really took my fancy so as a joke I just put in "gay credit card" for fun and true as bob, there is a gay credit card.

Now, appart from the fact that this is a credit card aimed at gay people, has no annual fee, and has got competitive interest rates and interest free for 55 days, what I really like is that it will donate 1% of purchases made to a gay charity of your choice. Or I dont think it even has to be a gay charity. If the SPCA for example wants to get involved they register with the equalitycard project and after getting listed as the charity on their portal you can choose them also.
I wish we had something like this here. I for one would love to have a card like this. I have written to Triangle Project in Cape Town and asked if they would perhaps look at doing something like this. Could be a great funding model for them and sure there are lots of gay people that would support it. Takes nothing from you anyway, appart from the card issuing fee.
I wonder why there are not more such credit cards in general. It is a pity. It is a great way to get funding to a charity not so?
Anyway. Just my start of the week musings
