I was thinking of this the other day, because my mom wants to apply for a contract with VC - it's a special with a free phone, costs R20 per month, on a Topup 49 package.
Do they do less strict credit checks on a package like this? Their risk is much lower, because you're only contracted to pay R480 over the lifetime of the contract; and you can't run up a huge phone bill since it's a Topup package.
It's obviously aimed at the lower income market, and I was just curious whether pensioners (for example) would have an easier time getting this package than a more expensive one.
