Why is there such a focus on the racial make up? Is it not best to let the best player play and focus on pouring money into the grass roots instead of pushing players that are not ready or not up to scratch into the National squad? I am not saying that is the not the case here but there is definitely tampering going on. Only 1 of the top 4 provincial 20/20 players is in the squad. Telemachus does not even feature in the provincial 20/20 scheme. Thandi Thabalala, who is really good but not suited to 20/20, should be in the ODI side but certainly not the 20/20 side. He has scored a total of 6 runs in the 20/20 series and only taken 4 wickets. I know that his economy rate is not bad but can you imagine what the international players would do to him. They should be blooding him in the ODI side not throwing him to the wolves in 20/20. 20/20 is about strikers and all rounders. Paul Harris and Johan Botha are also really strange picks for the squad.

keep a look out for Alviro Peterson, he can be VERY entertaining to watch.

I like him, he is really good. That is the type of player that they should be putting in the 20/20 side. Give the regulars a rest and pick the best team on current form. You have a guy like Henry Davids who scored 198 runs (4th highest) at one of the highest strike rate in the local 20/20 and he does not get a shout. Instead we get the tried and tested. I am supprised they didn't put in Prince.
