As I remember his test form was what got him into the team. He's a good test player but I don't think he's good enough for ODI's. Just a different game.

Thats what everyones believing now, but he was introduced into the the test team like most players are, he did well in the test arena but now he's known to only be a test player, same with Prince, Prince had to purposefully play a harder test game and score faster for him to be known as a batsmen.
Amla plays the test game well, im sure he'll play the ODI game just as well!
Ye unless Boucher gets injured. He played in the 20/20.
Hes also good in the field and is Smithys good luck charm!
Nah you cant compare AB and Amla, theres about 6 newbies in that squad that I havent even seen play a single international game.

Amla was never in the ODI squad. ODI and TEST cricket is two completely different disciplines, and therefore you usually see a different test and ODI squad.
Amla got selected into the Test squad in 2004. Then after that he started lifting his one day game, his current one day (limited overs) stats is looking good, and if he continues he might just get his chance in ODI's too.
But I dont see how you can even think of comparing AB to Amla.

AB just having some poor form lately...he has actually done quite a bit. His debut test series against England he batted well...hundred in the west indies and overall has a decent average. Only in the last 9 months or so has he performed poorly and that's why he's getting a lot of flak.

I think between the two of them, both have sufferde from lack of form lately, and to me amla has struggled slightly tho i am not sure why, perhaps the way he bats? Ay the same time the reason why you will see someone like ab in the team more si due to his athletic fielding and fact that he opens[which we lack options for too], like gibbs, as well as fact that he can replace boucher, so thats one less specialist you need in your team if boucher is hurt.

Do you call what the South Africa does cricket. I think your the one that does not understand what cricket is.
Dude! who cares if there are indians in the team or not. We should choose the best possible players - in other words "so what" if the whole team is indian. Rather ask why bodi doesnt get another chance.
It doesnt mean that because of the fact that we have 10000 indian cricketers that we need to choose one of them. Choose them on performance!
