CRICKET: SA v India

oms
forget my last comment. if they get all out for 200 were screwed

I go out to buy a drink.... and this is what I saw last:
End of over 28 (3 runs) - South Africa 95/0

I come back and its:
End of over 32 (8 runs) - South Africa 121/4

WTF?? is it like bad light or something? or is the pitch suddenly alive?

OMG, check the Zim ave ....the bully!

LOL @ zim... and he has an infinite average against bangladesh
k i eat my words again :)

But still he doesn't average in the 20's like smith does against aus and india.
And you must remember he had an horrendous start to his career... so if you take stats from the last 5 years you'll probably see something different.. again please dont check me on this. I cant check before i post cos im on my phone :D

This tells what kinda day I'm having. I'm on holiday, in a hotel, with niks to do and im on the forum with my mobile phone.. It suks having only one car wen on holiday when theres like 15 ppl. stupid friend went away to get something and she hasnt been back for 2 hrs

140/5  CricInfo not refreshing so not sure who's out??? Listening to it on the radio and the commentators chatting about everything other than the f-in cricket...bad weather..bad light...

edit: Gibbs gone

k very sorry i posted wrong info :D.. i remember him scoring a double hundred against bangladesh so i blurted it out....

Even that said, look at his average against west indies, zimbabwe and bangladesh.... 76, 81 and 63.

only decent team he has a good average against is pakistan, and ofcoarse england..... Look what happened against australia :( even newzealand dont have the best of attacks (esp without bond)...

So i would say his realistic average against the quality teams would be around 35..

However all said, it would be disastrous to change captains now before world cup so i hope it doesnt happen........He can bat very well. I remember him scoring effortless runs in the first ODI against india earlier in the year. He just needs to stop being so cocky and arrogant and play cricket instead of talking big all the time... ( i was so embarrassed when he started talking big before the australia tour)
Well, personal opinions aside. Smith's stats don't back up the hatreds stacked against him....... In any case, a captain should be measured on his performance as a captain, not on his personal batting averages (which are still above most other South Africans... what's Amla's avg again?). But anyway, the point is simple, Smith is in a batting slump and those that dislike him because of his *arrogance* see it fit to call for his head. I wonder why similar calls aren't being made for Sachin Tendulkar - he only scored one test fifty this year after all.

Strangely, Michael Schumacher was disliked for his *arrogance* as well.......

Amla was not out..regardless...dippenaar or rudolph are better players instead of Amla...

Seems to me that Amla is unable to make the step up to international level. Pity. There was a time I had high hopes for him.

Although I do recall the same being said of Kallis in the early stages of his international career.

The difference is Amla is talented, but Kallis is talented and textbook. The textbook part ensured that he will succeed. Albeit slowly. Pity about the slowly though....

I didn't like Amla the first time I saw him...he had very poor technique and that debut series against England was poor. Then he came back and did well against NZ and I had some faith in him..dont think he's suited for the game yet...with seamers that move the ball he cant do much.

Our top order fires but middle order playing ****...cant remember the last time both played well...

and he bat's at no. what for SA? :p

I think he has been having a slightly tough time at home though. I recall some commentator or other saying it.

Strangely, Michael Schumacher was disliked for his *arrogance* as well.......

Oh sht! Don't get me started! :D
