Cricket world cup discussion thread

Well at least one of the greats will win the world cup. Either the highest run scorer or the highest wicket taker in the game.

Yep, a WC on the subcontinent will always be questionable. The Q is can the Lankans resist the urge to throw it? If so, I say they are my favs to win.

Fortunately the Lankans are going to put a stop to their batting. Top three down and India are dead in the water.
 
Man for man India do have the stronger batting lineup,and then there's a taped together Murali.
 
I think that the final is going to boil down to which top 3 gets the best start and who wins the toss.

SL already got 2 finals and 1 win in the last 5 WC's in the bank so they coming into this with a lot less to prove.
India on the other hand have the expectations of 1 billion hardcore fans riding on this.That's a lot of weight to carry.
Having world class players don't mean much if you're playing under pressure like *cough* Proteas.
 
Stupid Pakis... Oh well.

SL are more balanced team, strong batting line up, very good bowling attack... They should win it.

The Indian fans are going to have a negative effect on the team then. All Dhoni will be thinking about is which aunty or uncle he will be sleeping at if they lose.
 
It's gonna be a 50/50 game - don't know how anyone can pick a favourite. In fact, I would like to know what the telly is at the bookies thus far!!
 
LOL so many India haters. The pressure wont be an issue. Gary will calm the nerves. South Africans should back India, least most of the support team is South African lol
