Criminal Record Expungement

How is this possible? Anyone would just pretend to have forgotten about the pencil, apologise profusely and pay for it.

I was a timid person and I panicked. Didn't think of lying. Such an idiot. :(

Seems MyBB draws a certain crowd judging by how many of these threads we've seen.

A certain crowd? I was 17 and dumb and had a troubled childhood. I've literally done nothing else to break the law in my life but nick a pencil. Does that make me "a certain crowd"? :(

It never gets trully "expungded". The question foreign countries ask when you enter their land, is if you have ever been convicted of a crime even if the record has been removed. Do you plan to lie to travel?

I would. For one thing, if the record is expunged then by definition it's not there for the embassy to find on corroboration. For another, it was a *****ing pencil.

Yeah as stupid as it was, it's real. I have no reason to lie anonymously online to strangers about that - literally won't serve any purpose to lie when I'm trying to seek advice to fix this. I was dumb and it was a weird impulse.

being a good girl...

I think some may have missed this. They will come rushing to your defence now :)

PS - you chaps take the bait as you see fit...

Relax. it's a bit of trolling and catfishing at the same time.

Stealing is stealing.

What does it matter if it was a pencil or something else? OP wants simple advice. Hopefully forumites can help.
