Crisis Talks To Save Woolworths from Administration

Everything that Woolworths UK sold was also sold by other stores in the UK like Tesco and the latter was usually better quality and at a lower price.

The only time I ever visited a Woolworths store was at Christmas to buy Pick 'n' Mix sweets, so you could get only the ones that you liked! :)

Woolworths were still using trading practices circa 1970's and it's a wonder they made it to 2008!

Woolworths also owned MFI who sold flat packed furniture (usually with two extra hinges but with three special screws missing and the instructions either in Polish or missing) a bit like a poor mans Ikea. This is also in receivership. There must be a few Englishmen dancing in the pub on hearing this news! :)
