Just got this email from a friend of mine, talking about his son having an accident on Wednesday night. Makes you sick!!

O had a very, very nasty accident last night. He wasn't hurt by the way, thank God!
Driving up on Rifle Range Road, in the rain, a car came down and turned in front of him. He slowed down to give the guy a chance, saw another car also coming in the opposite direction, but not turning, and then ........... a stupid black woman in a new Yaris was watching this second car as well, and when this car passed, she jumped into the queue to follow this car, directly infront of O.
He still tried to apply cadence braking, but it was too late - he smashed the left front of the Citi, bumper, mudguard, door grille and headlight. The Yaris had the right front bumped to pieces. He, and a friend who passed by, had to cut the mudguard further to allow him to drive the Citi away. Of course, this woman would not give him her details, and when he complained to the Metro Police about it (they arrived on the scene) this Black Cop told him that the driver is not allowed to give him the details, as he has to BUY it from her (the Cop) for R 10,00!! (This is for the accident report that is). He refused, so when she gave the Cop her details, O was typing away on his cell phone, and even checked to see that her cell phone is responding to his call!

The Police number is also, believe it or not, only available from Friday 12:00 - where did you hear ***** like that? I told him to report this to the police, but unfortunately they felt that as this has already been reported, he can't report it again. Now, with their record of losing paperwork etc., how do you prove on FRIDAY that the accident was reported? By then it is too late, The Insurance may say Bull you didn't report, so they won't pay etc. etc. etc.

Bugger that, I told him to report this to another police station, and not say that the Metro Cops were there!

In the mean time he got hassled by 6 tow trucks who wanted to tow him away, and the more he refused their assistance, the more they told him how stupid he was!

A girl at work had an accident, and got so harassed by these bastards, and the police to boot - "the car is causing a traffic jam , it must be removed NOW", that she couldn't resist (not being able to get in touch with her father or boy friend) Her insurance company wouldn't pay the R 5000 release fee, as the tow truck wasn't AA approved, and when she said that the police in fact had the car removed, both the police and the tow truck operator insisted that she gave them the order! Bloody shame! She had to pay the R 5000 herself!

It infuriates my so much this bloody country!

He should have taken down the badge number of the metro officer - or at the very least his license plate number, to take up further with higher authorities.
